The reorganization of production space and the recuperation of the economy of the State of Rio de Janeiro: an analysis of highly qualified migrants

The impacts on Brazil of the transformations of production structures in the central capitalist countries, in conjunction with Brazil’s political and economic reality, have produced new geographical arrangements of production systems, especially those related to industry. A central problem inherent in the participation of the State of Rio de Janeiro in this new national dynamic is the recovery of its economy, despite the stagnation the state has been suffering for decades. This article discusses certain aspects of this crisis with the purpose of contributing to the debate related to the state’s possible economic recovery, focusing on the behavior of highly qualified migrant workers.Downloads
