This article discusses potential contributions made by demographic analysis to urban public policies. Ten situations pertaining to social policy-making where demographic information may provide a substantial contribution are featured here. Additionally, two other important aspects are highlighted – namely, the issue of de-aggregating spatial information, and the need to use geographic information systems.Downloads
